Using that time as lesson number 1 in our understanding of...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="center"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff0000;"&gt;The Time Value of Money&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;What cost $1.00 in 1932 would cost $12.15 in 2005. Or,&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;p&gt;Put in another way, if you bought exactly the same items in 2005 and 1932 (say one cup of coffee), they would cost you $1.00 and $0.08, respectively.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;p&gt;Let's take a look at another example. &lt;p&gt;This time we'll look at Joe Karbo's book called "The Lazy Man's Way To Riches".&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;p&gt;Back in 1973, Joe was selling the book for $10 a piece. But, what would the adjusted value be in 2005?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;p&gt;Turns out that $10 in 1973 is equivalent to $44.15 in "2005 U.S.A. What was the unit of sale? How did the person pay? By credit card, cash, check, lay-away...). The house list is the most valuable list a business can own and use. And, it's most valuable to the "house" in motivating its own customers to buy more front-end and/or back-end products or services.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The "Rented List" is some other business' "house list" that it rents to you. It usually has some "tracking names" that the list owner has placed in the list to keep track of how often you use the list. (might be less but it could be a lot more... but we'll use it as an example) wouldn't it be a shame if one of those ads didn't generate enough business to pay for the cost? It could be disasterous for a newly founded company. So... &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;How do we make the ad work and pay for itself?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Answer: Design the ad, not like a typical yellow page ad, but as a direct response ad...&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;What does a direct response ad look like? However, he just recently&lt;br /&gt;aimed his skills towards helping people like you and I&lt;br /&gt;move up to the next level of online interaction.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Scott has just thrown out there his debut concept&lt;br /&gt;(the first of many, I'm sure) to the world of internet&lt;br /&gt;marketers and online copywriters. That said,&lt;br /&gt;today’s Internet users are not like they were a few years&lt;br /&gt;ago, surfing around in a “let’s see what I come across”&lt;br /&gt;mode. They are disciplined and focused. They know what&lt;br /&gt;they want and they utilize this medium to target their own&lt;br /&gt;needs, quickly and efficiently. You will only have one chance at this person, so&lt;br /&gt;make it count.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The average user is inundated with garbage all day long,&lt;br /&gt;from commercials, billboards, print ads, banners, and of&lt;br /&gt;course, spam. Their eyes are glazed and their brains are&lt;br /&gt;numb from the monotony of it all. Your job as a&lt;br /&gt;marketer/copywriter is to wake them up and prove that you&lt;br /&gt;have something they want. The only way to do this is to&lt;br /&gt;focus on their needs…&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Clear, direct copy that talks to their specific needs –&lt;br /&gt;not the previous or next reader’s - but this particular&lt;br /&gt;reader’s specific needs.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I’m sure many of you have heard of Dan Kennedy. If you&lt;br /&gt;haven’t, he is one of the best sales letter writers out&lt;br /&gt;there. His book, The Ultimate Sales Letter, is an&lt;br /&gt;established cornerstone of the industry. You may even have&lt;br /&gt;a copy of it floating around your home office…&lt;br /&gt;However…it’s hard to imagine that after only 2 years since&lt;br /&gt;the Second Edition was published, much of the online&lt;br /&gt;relevance of this book is outdated. Gotta love that&lt;br /&gt;technology!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great book to learn how to write&lt;br /&gt;sales letters. However, I am not going to teach you how to&lt;br /&gt;write sales letters; I’m going to teach you how to make them&lt;br /&gt;9x more effective in targeting your visitors!&lt;br /&gt;Technology has advanced enough to provide a technique that&lt;br /&gt;will revolutionize the way copy is written online from this&lt;br /&gt;day forward.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Was that a bold statement?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Maybe. But if you get it, than you’ll immediately start the&lt;br /&gt;coffee pot and begin restructuring all of your content, only&lt;br /&gt;pausing to master the possibilities.&lt;br /&gt;I want you to read this excerpt from The Ultimate Sales Letter&lt;br /&gt;by Dan Kennedy (page 15) :&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;---Begin Excerpt---&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There is a classic sales legend about the hotshot salesman&lt;br /&gt;pitching a new home heating system to a little old lady. He&lt;br /&gt;told her everything there was to know about BTUs, construction,&lt;br /&gt;warranties, service, and so on. When he finally shut up, she&lt;br /&gt;said, “I have just one question --- will this thing keep a&lt;br /&gt;little old lady warm?”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Each time I’ve gone shopping for a personal computer, I’ve&lt;br /&gt;seen the same selling error repeated over and over again in&lt;br /&gt;the computer stores I’ve visited. These salespeople tell me&lt;br /&gt;everything about what’s important to them, but they never slow&lt;br /&gt;down long enough to find out what’s important to me.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The mistake is even easier to make in crafting a sales letter,&lt;br /&gt;because there’s no possibility of corrective feedback from the&lt;br /&gt;customer during the presentation. That’s why you must determine&lt;br /&gt;accurately, in advance, what their priorities are. And you must&lt;br /&gt;address their priorities, not yours.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;---End Excerpt---&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Everything he stated is 100% true...&lt;br /&gt;in the offline world!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;However, as a programmer in the online world, I said, “Wait a&lt;br /&gt;minute… No possibility of corrective feedback?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is the Internet for crying out loud. It’s an interactive&lt;br /&gt;communication tool. Heck, I get corrective feedback even when&lt;br /&gt;I don’t ask for it. Click, click, click."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So the next day, I was hard at work researching this&lt;br /&gt;phenomenon. How could such an obvious idea go untouched? Sure,&lt;br /&gt;the book was a few years old, so I figured somewhere online&lt;br /&gt;somebody is getting real-time corrective feedback. But I was&lt;br /&gt;unable to come up ANYTHING!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What I DID find, was a whole lot of tools and people promoting&lt;br /&gt;the same tactics and strategies used in that far off detached&lt;br /&gt;world some call “Offline”.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;TODAY'S SALES TOOLS&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I found tons of polls and surveys that one can give, but what&lt;br /&gt;good is that? Yes, it’s great to analyze your well-thought&lt;br /&gt;questionnaire for “next time”, but what if that visitor doesn’t&lt;br /&gt;give you a next time. And now he’s moved on because he just&lt;br /&gt;wasted a valuable 2 minutes of his time filling out 10-20&lt;br /&gt;questions that don’t really give him an immediate result that&lt;br /&gt;is pertinent to him, just to you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;All of the articles, books and ebooks I come across about sales&lt;br /&gt;letters or copywriting, are mostly regurgitating the same info&lt;br /&gt;as the last. I understand, there are proven techniques out&lt;br /&gt;there, there are copywriters who are experts in their field,&lt;br /&gt;and I applaud them. The known experts are the ones who have&lt;br /&gt;earned it, with groundbreaking writing styles and forward&lt;br /&gt;thinking solutions that build upon those proven methods rather&lt;br /&gt;than just repeating them. They simply find new ways to reach&lt;br /&gt;the all important goal...the sale!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;THE SALES GOAL&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The goal of any sales person is to make the sale. But what is&lt;br /&gt;a sale to the customer? A sale buys the customer a solution to&lt;br /&gt;the customer’s specific problem.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This can be done more easily with an idea of what that specific&lt;br /&gt;problem is, obviously. That is why salesmen harness an&lt;br /&gt;amazing-advanced-top-secret-technique to dig out that hidden&lt;br /&gt;problem…&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;They ask!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When you walk into a pet store you’re obviously looking for a&lt;br /&gt;pet and not diapers (at least for most of us). So you know&lt;br /&gt;that the chances are good that the pet store has something that&lt;br /&gt;you want…&lt;br /&gt;But does the salesperson say, “Here is our selection of pets,&lt;br /&gt;have fun.”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;No, they ask a very simple question, “What type of pet are you&lt;br /&gt;looking for?”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I can’t stress enough how vital that question is!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;With your simple off-the-cuff response, “A dog for my son”,&lt;br /&gt;that sales person has immediately zeroed in and targeted you.&lt;br /&gt;You are now a proud member of the Dog category.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Think about it!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now the salesperson doesn’t have to waste his breath with trying&lt;br /&gt;to sell you a cat, bird, hamster, fish, lizard, or anything else…&lt;br /&gt;other than a dog.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I don’t even have to tell you what would be the next thing out&lt;br /&gt;of his mouth, you already know…&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;“What kind of dog are you looking for?”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Narrowing down the field to “give the customer what they want”&lt;br /&gt;and not waste time in the process is the second vital question.&lt;br /&gt;There is no point in bringing out Rex, the German Shepard, if&lt;br /&gt;the customer is looking for a small “yo quierro taco bell”&lt;br /&gt;Chiwawa.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The same exact scenario transaction takes place for every&lt;br /&gt;industry in every aspect.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Home Depot employees aren’t going to bother showing you toilet&lt;br /&gt;plungers, if you need a light switch.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Am I right?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Even if you only have one product, I’m sure there are certain&lt;br /&gt;features or specific benefits that could be promoted&lt;br /&gt;specifically to one customer rather than another.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;CORRECTIVE FEEDBACK AT LAST&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Asking 2 questions will target a customer better than any&lt;br /&gt;professional sales letter could ever hope to. This is called&lt;br /&gt;"Corrective Feedback". You get to know what's important to&lt;br /&gt;each and every customer. The grand quest of unlimited&lt;br /&gt;knowledge can be answered by asking the right questions.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Are the bells going off yet?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The main goal in that verbal-transaction was to narrow down the&lt;br /&gt;customer’s need -- and to provide a solution for that need. By&lt;br /&gt;asking the first general question, we are able to at least&lt;br /&gt;categorize our customers. By categorizing them, we can&lt;br /&gt;concentrate on their mindset and what our next question would&lt;br /&gt;be to hone in on that.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Two questions is vital to categorize and to further target a&lt;br /&gt;potential customer or promote a special feature. You can now&lt;br /&gt;understand that if the next customer says “Cat”, how&lt;br /&gt;dramatically that would effect what your next question would&lt;br /&gt;be. Would you be gearing up Rex? "Sorry again ol'buddy."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Remember this...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The goal of any sales letter, pitch, call, etc. is to solve&lt;br /&gt;a problem, to make the customer’s life easier or save them&lt;br /&gt;time. Find out what the potential customer is looking for and&lt;br /&gt;offer a solution that satisfies that.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Period.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;-----------------------------------------------------------------&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What do you think?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well, get ready for this...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Scott has done it! This not only brought back memories of the prior year (i.e. the first time I was introduced to each piece) but made me wonder...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"Could those pieces be considered 'good art' or 'bad art'?"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As a parent, I'm blinded and biased to think that my kids are the best of the best and their works: better than all other kids.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But I wanted to be objective so, after storing the "art boxes" in the attic I decided to find out if my kids' art pieces could be classified as 'good art' or 'bad art'. Instead I&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Went to my computer and "googled" for "bad art".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The first listing I saw was for The Museum of Bad Art:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="center"&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The Museum Of Bad Art (MOBA) is the world's only museum dedicated to the collection, preservation, exhibition and celebration of bad art in all its forms. &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So I clicked on it's website link (&lt;a href="http://www.museumofbadart.org"&gt;www.museumofbadart.org&lt;/a&gt;) and did a quick study of bad art.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But what does this have to do with getting your website enabled to accepted tips or gratuities or monetary gifts... how can you get people to give you their money? Patience... I have not forgotten the purpose of this missive. But before I tell you how to do it you need to know...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What I discovered and how I did it for myself. So, back to the story...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As I was navigating around the MOBA's website I clicked on the homepage's "Donate" link and it was then that I was inspired. Yes! It was then that I saw the light!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There, near the top right hand side of my computer screen were the words "donate moolah" and a square banner ad that read:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="center"&gt;Greetings&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="center"&gt;Send $2 or more to&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="center"&gt;MOBA today!&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="center"&gt;Click to Pay&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="center"&gt;fully refundable&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="center"&gt;amazon honor system&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="center"&gt;learn more&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="center"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;"Amazon honor system" I thought.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;"Never heard of it but let's learn more", I thought.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;Yep! That little banner forced me into a mental dialog but...&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;It didn't last long before I clicked on the banner link and discovered...&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;That MOBA had made arrangements with Amazon.com to collect money from generous benefactors.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;"Me Too! Me Too! I want in!", went my internalized brain speech to an attentive audience of one. Based on those notes I decided to write this review of the interview. Who should read on? Good question! Brad is a search engine entrepreneur who actually makes a fantastic income from an online business that isn't involved in selling online courses on "how to market online";&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;2. 90% of info out there is about selling info on internet marketing;&lt;br /&gt;But there is a ton of opportunity for selling other items or services on the internet;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;3. He opened his online store sometime around October of November of 2003 with very little traffic and then, after doing some search engine optimization he got his first order on Jan 5, 2004 and his business blossomed from then on;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;4. His profit margins are 30 to 50% for selling hard inventoried items.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;5. At first, he and his wife started selling out of their house then they had to take over the basement then they had to do it out of a small office and then they had to get a small warehouse… all in 8 months!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;6. The name of his ecommerce site is &lt;a href="http://www.myweddingfavors.com"&gt;www.myweddingfavors.com&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;7. Brad remembered and took to heart two major points that Ken McCarthy had impressed upon him earlier in his carrier: &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;Point 1... the ideal business centers around selling information because of the great advantages info products possess and &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;Point 2: your ecommerce site doesn’t have to be perfect... forget perfection... the important point to remember is 'just start doing anything'. You can always fine-tune later but get your site up and running NOW... DO Something Now and worry about fixing it later;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;8. If you know how to consistently place your site in the top 10 search results of google you essentially have a license to print money;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;9. It takes some work, and it takes some study to get good solid search engine positioning results;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;10. Brad attended Danny Sullivan’s search engine optimization seminar in San Jose between 2 and 5 August 2004 and he learnt about the value of "Blogging";&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;11. What's a blog? Blog = short for web log; a blog is created by using a simple content management software that lets writers put in reverse chronological order thoughts on a website.&lt;br /&gt;12. Each blog ends up on it’s own web page, created by the blogging software, and the pages get saved and archived.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;13. Blogging is becoming more and more popular in leaps and bounds.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;14. Brad Fallon referred a book called “The Cluetrain Manifesto: The End of Business As Usual” talks about how companies will interface with the public in 2000 and beyond.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;15. Brad brought up another book called “We The Media” in which any person can become the media.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;16. With blogs you can add researched materials on a regular basis to the internet thereby helping you become part of the “media”.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;17. Now let’s look at the marketing aspect of blogs. 1st; there is software that’s available for free use that allows a blogger to create web pages without even knowing html. One company that lets you do this is at &lt;a href="http://www.blogger.com/"&gt;http://www.blogger.com/&lt;/a&gt; for free. Google bought blogger.com Moveabletype.com is another company involved in providing blogging software.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;18. Every time you post an entry in your blog and every time someone leaves a comment on your entry each become separate and new web pages.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;19. Pages on web sites are important because generally the websites with more pages tend to rank higher in the search engine ranking scheme.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;20. The more content you have the more groups of key words you end up having and with different combinations of those key words and you have a better chance of coming up with even weird search phrases that someone might use to find what they are looking for and which happens to jive with what your site has to offer.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;21. You end up having more shots at more apples by having more content richness and more diverse, but related, pages.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;22. But now things get really interesting when people comment on your blogs. Why? By leaving comments on your blog they are contributing to your site’s content and it's on their dime and time! Wow!!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;23. 2nd benefit of having all those pages is that you end up getting more navigable links that point to your site from those blog pages and search engines rank partly on how many pages link to your site.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;24. It’s easy to post on your blog and if you make 5 posts in one day you’ve added 5 pages to your site.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;25. Add a little ad at the top of your blog’s formatted page and this ad should have a navigable link to your website.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;26. You can also create a link strip, with the links to all of your websites and legitimize presence of the different sites by calling that link section “this site is sponsored by the following supporters:”, at the bottom or side of your blog page that appears in all the blogs.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;27. Since blogs tend to update their content a lot google tends to crawl through blogs often and if you have a link on a blog it will tend to be found quickly by the search engines.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;28. Here's an important note: &lt;span style="color:#990000;"&gt;"Submitting your site to google is a complete waste of time. Don’t waste the time, energy or money".&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;29. One technique that can help is to get one link from a blog that has a decent page rank can get your site listed highly by google. If you can place a comment on a blog that gets crawled by google 2 or more times a day it’s possible for your site to pop up within two hours of the time the comment was posted (assuming you have a navigable link to your site referenced in your blog comment page).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;30. Avoid posting comments on a blog that do not have anything to do with the blog topic. If you do that the owner of the blog may delete your comment (called cleaning out).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;31. The technique that you should use is: go to high trafficked blogs and post comments of good content material and you can often put a link in it of your own web site in exchange for providing content to their website.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;32. &lt;a href="http://www.bradfallon.com/"&gt;http://www.bradfallon.com/&lt;/a&gt; has a blog on a page rank 6 website and he invites people to post comments.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;33. Ready to Blog? Want to learn more? Visit &lt;a href="http://www.blogger.com/"&gt;http://www.blogger.com/&lt;/a&gt; (free for everyone) and/or &lt;a href="http://www.moveabletype.org"&gt;www.moveabletype.org&lt;/a&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;Based on that information I started my own blog (you're looking at it) and within less than 48 hours the web page in which that blog occupied was in the number one google spot when I "googled" my name. Impressive! But... Since I didn't add additional content to the blog I noticed that my first and only blog page disappeared from the number one spot after a couple of weeks. ;) &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;This little test suggests that creating a blog and regularly adding to in is not only a great way to get your name ranked higher by google but can help you turn your name into a brand. Branding yourself is an ongoing process and it looks like blogging is one way that can help but only if... &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;You provide interesting and useful content.
